One-day trip with the Continental Classic Express to the capital of Croatia

Spend this special day with us, during which you can explore Zagreb’s wonderful Christmas market, admire the city’s stunning sights, and enjoy unique festive programs. Zagreb’s Christmas market is one of the most beautiful in Europe and has been recognized multiple times. The main square (Ban Jelačić Square) and its surroundings are adorned with magical lights and festive decorations, welcoming visitors.

Program

Guests can board our train at Budapest-Keleti and Budapest-Kelenföld stations. After taking your seats, we will introduce the day’s program, and our colleagues will distribute city maps and information materials to our guests. On the train, we will share interesting stories about the imperial city. The dining car and bar car will be in operation throughout the journey. We will disembark at Zagreb Main Station. In the city, our guests will have free time until departure. Please check the opening hours and prices of the markets, museums, viewpoints, cable cars, and other attractions you plan to visit while planning your individual program. Before the trip, please check the expected weather at your chosen destination and prepare accordingly with suitable clothing.

1. Zagreb Advent Market

Zagreb’s Christmas market is one of the most beautiful in Europe and has received multiple accolades. The main square (Ban Jelačić Square) and its surroundings are adorned with magical lights and festive decorations.

2. Zrinjevac Park

Zrinjevac Park is filled with festive lights and decorations, offering visitors a special Christmas atmosphere. The park often hosts live musical performances in the music pavilion, further enhancing the holiday spirit.

3. Cathedral

The Cathedral of St. Stephen is one of Zagreb’s most famous landmarks. The stunning Gothic structure and festive decorations provide a unique experience during the Advent season.

4. Tkalčićeva Street

This bustling pedestrian street is lined with cafes, restaurants, and shops. It is an ideal place for a little rest and a hot drink.

The Tourist class coaches with a spacious passenger compartment ensure a comfortable journey for 42 people. Each lodge has a full table. The washrooms open from the vestibule of the cars. Tourist class tickets include free seat selection and a welcome and farewell gift.	The journey in the 42-seat first-class Pullman carriages, equipped with two- and four-seater reclining armchairs, becomes a real experience. Each cabin has a window and a full table, so guests can pass the time of the trip with a card or board game party. Pullman class tickets include free seat selection, a mineral water and a welcome and farewell gift.	In addition to the services included in the price of Pullman tickets, Pullman First tickets include a welcome champagne, a breakfast served on the way there, a four-course dinner served on the way back, as well as mineral water, soft drinks and hot drinks. Our guests can choose breakfast during the trip, and dinner when purchasing a ticket. Food and drinks are served in the seats by the car’s dedicated wait staff.

It was originally a Trans Europe Express (TEE) dining car, equipped with all the luxuries of the 1960s then available. The TEE trains were the forerunners of today’s EuroCity trains, connecting the major cities of Western Europe by providing special services. The dining car is open for guests during the entire trip with an a la carte menu suitable for the time of day, which includes both meat and vegetarian dishes. The meals served in the dining car are always prepared by our chef on the train from the freshest ingredients.		The Continental Salonz bar car, as the train’s social point, is an excellent place to get to know our fellow passengers and make new friends. We await our guests with a wide selection of drinks and snacks in the bar during the entire trip.
