One-day trip with the Continental Classic Express
- Description
Vienna, Rathausplatz, Christkindlmarkt - this is a celebration of Christmas fantasy. The city of artisan delicacies and countless stalls offering culinary delicacies, the giant Christmas tree full of hearts standing in front of its atmospherically lit house, attract many visitors every year. Those who are not strolling or enjoying Viennese social life at the punch stands can go for a spin on the skating rink or follow the path of handmade Christmas cradles in amazement. Vienna also offers many cultural programs for visitors, so the exhibitions of the Albertina or the Kunhistorisches Museum are also worth visiting.

- Program
You can board our the at Budapest-Keleti and Budapest-Kelenföld railway stations. After taking the seats, we present the day’s program, our colleagues distribute Vienna maps and information materials to our guests. The dining car and the bar car are in open for the entire duration of the trip.
You can also join the journey at Tatabánya and Győr stations.
Our guests can get off the train at the Hauptbahnhof and the Westbahnhof in Vienna. After arriving in Vienna, we will start a free walk for those interested to the city’s Baroque-style imperial residence, the Schönbrunn Palace. The approximately 30-minute walk ends at the castle garden, from where our guests can continue their individual program in the pleasant direction.

The Tourist class coaches with a spacious passenger compartment ensure a comfortable journey for 42 people. Each lodge has a full table.
The washrooms open from the vestibule of the cars. Tourist class tickets include free seat selection and a welcome and farewell gift.

It was originally a Trans Europe Express (TEE) dining car, equipped with all the luxuries of the 1960s then available. The TEE trains were the forerunners of today’s EuroCity trains, connecting the major cities of Western Europe by providing special services. The dining car is open for guests during the entire trip with an a la carte menu suitable for the time of day, which includes both meat and vegetarian dishes.
